Examples of verbs:
share, love, style, wonder, swap, bother, text, buy, fancy, like, help, open, brush, dump.
Different types of verb:
FULL - main verbs describe an action, thought or feeling. There is no limit to the words in this class.
PRIMARY - main verbs or auxillary verbs. There are three: have, be and do.
AUXILLARY - usually accompany a main verb: to have, to be, will, must etc.
MODUAL AUXILLARY - indicate possibly, probability, certanly: will, would, shall, should, may might, ought, can, could.
VERBS CAN BE ACTIVE OR PASSIVE :
Active verb: Tim wrote an essay
Passive verb: The essay was written by Tim.
Verbs have moods: indicative, imperative or subjunctive.
Indicative: questions, facts - Rachel is shouting.
Imperative: commands - Shout, Rachel!
Subjunctive: conditions, wishes, suppositions - If Rachel were to shout.
