Cafe Max Commentary AS

The purpose of our piece of writing was to entertain and inform. We wanted to share with our audience a few personal experiences of Cafe Max. We aimed the audience at people of the same age and situation. Most likely people who have no strong opinion yet of the cafe or people who want to explore different opinions of it.
When writing the piece I tried to visualise and consider how a new student might feel about eating alone and how that might change their opinion of Cafe Max. As I decided to write as if I was eating alone, I decided to give the piece a slightly negative and uncomfortable feel to it; therefore a negative opinion of the food. We also decided to make the reader feel sympathy for the writer. We did this by stating things like 'Feeling lonely' and 'I became another anonymous face'. We thought this would entertain and interest the reader a little but more.
The main focuses of this piece of writing was the social etiquette and the feelings of the writer. We wanted to show the audience a sense of empathy, almost telling them that they are not the only ones who feel lonely on their first few days at college. This is why we tried to put as many of our own personal experiences of Cafe Max into the piece, to give it a more personal feel.
